Much variation can be found in this style of O.D. rib insofar as proportions and diameters.
What sets this style apart from the others is:
the sharp edge of the O.D. rib
the large difference in barrel diameters above and below the O.D. rib.
These hydrants are also divided into multiple sections based on bonnet style and size.

This first section has hydrants with the old style 9" O.D. bonnet version
(see side view) that has patent dates cast onto
the rim as shown in this top view.
