The hydrant on this page conforms to the DIN 3222 spec (Deutsches Institut für Normung) and is in the style of the typical aboveground German hydrant. There is no distinguishing ornamentation on this hydrant.

The image below is from a 1957 catalog titled "Industrie Armaturen" from the former East Germany, which appears to be sourcebook for a range of factories, most of which are bearing variations of the "VEB + description" naming convention, some with names such as Karl Marx in the title. The various VEB plants were located throughout the DDR (German Democratic Republic).

Notes: Available in either 80mm (3") or 100mm (4") mainvalve sizes, the smaller having nozzles of 52mm (2") hose, 75mm(3") pumper, the larger hydrant having 72mm (2 7/8") hose nozzles and a single 100mm (4") pumper.
