Philadelphia Spec Fire Hydrants
Pictured here are some examples of the standard fire hydrants used throughout Philadelphia, PA. The city does not use the standard pentagonal style operating nut, instead the nuts are of a triangular shape that is recessed into the bonnet so that a socket is necessary.

Philadelphia was the first city in the United States to have a fire hydrant system.
