EMCO Corporation
Drolet Produits Municipaux - Québec City, QC Canada

F.X. Drolet was founded by Francois Xavier Drolet in 1875 in Quebec City as a repair facility for industrial pumps and steam engines. A foundry was added early on for the production of street fountains amongst other things. In 1908 a dry was dock built, adding ship repairs to the range of services. Fire hydrants were added to the company's product line at some point, at least 3 models were produced in their factory. The model designations for these hydrant are the Series #1, Series #50, & Series # 100. The Series 50 looks like an R.D. Wood Mathews Improved clone.

EMCO is a distributor of both Clow Canada and Mueller Canada fire hydrants. Drolet Produits Municipaux is a distributor of EMCO Corp.

After Drolet stopped producing their own hydrants, the entered agreements with other manufacturers, notably Canada Iron and Clow Canada. At least 3 models were produced by others under the Drolet brand name. If you have information about F.X. Drolet, such as old advertisements, brochures, etc., please Contact Us.
