W & B Douglas was a maker of water pumps, hydraulic rams and other equipment, as documented in an early advertising item. From other sources we know that the company also made cannons as well as hand fire engines and small fire hydrants. Between 1832 and 1888, Douglas hand fire engines such as the one below were produced.

From a Douglas catalog page for the fire hydrant shown below, it is clear that the company also made yard hydrants. The fire hydrant shown here was apparently available only in single outlet configuration in 1½" and 2" outlet sizes, with 1½" and 2" pipe inlet sizes.
