Bill has worked as a firefighter for the city of Cincinnati in Ohio for nearly 6 years. He is currently stationed at Engine 34 in Clifton which covers all of Clifton including a large part of the University of Cincinnati. Bill became a firefighter at the age of 41 after a 15 year career as a teacher, finishing at Roger Bacon High School as an English teacher. He is also an amateur gardener and weight lifter. He has a collection of firefighting memorabilia. Bill developed his interest in hydrant collecting after meeting Ed Masminster, another FireHydrant.org collector.
