| 4 | NUMBER OF STEAMER NOZZLES | Usually one. Maximum is two. | |
| 5 | DEPTH OF BURY | Distance from ground line to bottem of connecting pipe. "Trench" and "ditch" are the same as "bury." "Cover" is the distance rom the ground line to the top of connecting pipe. | |
| 6 | SIZE OF SHOE CONNECTION | 4", 6", or 8". | |
| 7 | TYPE OF SHOE CONNECTION | Usually Hub (bell) end. Can be furnished with flanged, screwed, Universal and other types. | |
| 8 | SIZE OF OPERATING NUT; SHAPE OF OPERATING NUT | National Standard is 1½" pentagon, measured from point to opposite flat. Square and hexagon can olso be furnished, size determined by measur- ing across center from flat to flat. | |

| 10 | HOZE NOZZLE THREADING | Send male coupling on hydrant nozzle to show threads desired EXCEPT in the following cases:(a) If using National Standard, specify accordingly on order; (b) If we have previously furnished hy- drants at same location and there has been no change. IN THE LATTER TWO CASES, IT WILL NOT BE NECESSARY TO SEND SAMPLE. Samples will not be necessary on subsequent ord- ers, as complete records are kept on file in our Engineering Department for reference. | |

| 12 | COLOR | Unless other wise specified on order, final coating will be metallic aluminum bronze except bonnet, hose nozzle caps and steamer nozzle cap, which will be enameled fire-hydrant red. We will enamel any color (or colors) specified to match existing standard in your city. | |
